Thank you to the parents who supervised the Servers in Naas yesterday. Yes, ” a good time was had by all” !

Church Decorations

The Christmas Tree, Crib and Christmas decorations will be removed this week from the church which will look bare without them. Thank you to the people who supplied them and erected them.  It made our church a very welcoming place for our many visitors during Christmas.

Today is the Feast of the Baptism of the Lord. Through his baptism Jesus is awakened to his fundamental identity as God’s beloved. His task is to awaken others to their identity as God’s loved ones. In enabling people to realise that they are already sons and daughters of God, Jesus awakens them to the truth of their identity. If only we could all grasp this!

Today’s Feast marks the beginning of Ordinary Time. Besides the times of year that have their own distinctive character, there remains in the yearly cycle 33 or 34 weeks in which no particular aspect of the mystery of Christ is celebrated. Instead the mystery of Christ itself is honoured in its fulness, especially on Sundays. This period is known as Ordinary Time.

Christmas Dues

Thank you to all who have sent in their envelopes. Your support is much appreciated.

Christmas Story

Hearty congratulations to the children who took part in the presentation of the Christmas Story in Eadestown Church on the Thursday before Christmas. Thank you to all who prepared them so well but especially to Siobhan Fay who had to dash from work each evening for the practise.
