3rd Sunday of Lent. We reach the half way point of Lent this week. It’s a good time to review our Lenten resolutions or to begin making some if non were made at the beginning of Lent. The need for penance is always there. Unfortunately since the rules regarding fasting and abstaining were relaxed many people don’t bother anymore. It just proves how hard it is to act responsibly and make our own decisions in these matters. Doing something because we should rather than being told to, is a sign of maturity.
Lenten Prayer Campaign for the Protection of the unborn child. A movement has begun in Donegal and is spreading elsewhere which suggests that people would fast and abstain on Wednesdays and Fridays during Lent for the protection of the unborn child. It’s something individuals might like to do.
