MARCH 10th – 4th SUNDAY OF LENT
a) Called Laetare Sunday – rejoicing Sunday. God rejoices when we turn back to him.
b) Mothering Sunday. We thank God for the gift of motherhood and with immense gratitude remember all that our mothers have sacrificed on our behalf. Today we welcome to our 10am mass all our young mothers who have had babies baptized in our parish during the past year. We hope that they will have time to have a cup of tea/coffee in Kilteel Hall afterwards.
c) Emigrant Sunday. We remember all who have had to leave family and homeland behind in search of work. d) Le Cheile hospitality for all in Kilteel Hall after this mass.
Lenten Prayer Campaign for the Protection of the unborn child. A movement has begun in Donegal and is spreading elsewhere which suggests that people would fast and abstain on Wednesdays and Fridays during Lent for the protection of the unborn child. It’s something individuals might like to do.
Lenten Talks. Our third evening with Fr John Cullinan SJ takes place this Wednesday in Eadestown Church from 8-9pm. It is an opportunity not to be missed to hear Fr John and at first hand experience news ways of praying. He is a very interesting and lively talker with a wide experience of working with young adults. The 60 minutes are guaranteed to fly.
